Online Programs: Scope, Suitability and Purpose

Purchase of an enrollment allows you to access your online program(s) for a period of one year from the date of purchase. As a security measure, your enrollment may end and your account may be removed from the platform after that time, particularly if there has been no recent activity; however, free re-enrollments in active programs may be issued (contact [email protected]).  Audio and audio with video portions of the programs are streaming only, while supplements are downloadable as PDF’s. The terms of the Disclaimer above apply to Online Programs as well as Telephone Consultations and should be read and understood carefully before purchase.

Restrictions

Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS customers and users must be at least 18 years of age, or the legal age or majority in their jurisdiction if it is different. Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS reserves the right to restrict access to an online program user at any point and/or to edit or delete a user’s account for any reason, without prior notice and without a refund.

Third Party Sites

DebraMacleod.com contains links to sites that are owned and operated by reputable and privacy compliant third parties.  These include the Thinkific course platform for course enrollment and delivery, and Acuity Scheduling for booking telephone consultations. Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS also uses third-party payment processors PayPal and Stripe.

If you use these links (e.g. by clicking ‘enroll now’ to move on to the Thinkific course platform) you are leaving DebraMacleod.com.  Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS has no control over the terms of use, security, privacy, confidentiality, compatibility, functionality or availability of any linked website and is not responsible for these websites or their terms of use, security, privacy, confidentiality, compatibility, functionality or availability, or breaches thereof.  Please see our privacy policy for more information.

Refunds

Due to the non-returnable nature of online courses and the prevalence of buyer abuse / fraud in this digital age, Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS has a general no-refund policy. Our courses provide exceptional value for the cost, course pages and free audio introductions contain an accurate description of contents, the platform is reliable, and the multi-step payment process (designed to curtail unauthorized or impulsive purchases) is secure with anti-fraud measures in place. All of this means that buyers are able to make an informed and responsible purchase. Marriage SOS is not a free service and takes appropriate action against those who exploit its products (as evidenced by the course's activity feed and the payment process): this may include submitting documentation to the customer's bank / credit card company and/or pursuing legal action for copyright infringement of course material. We have a zero-tolerance policy with respect to buyer abuse / fraud, and assertively counter all cases of such.

However, if you feel that your situation is unique or exceptional, or that you should be exempted from this general no-refund policy by law or for any reason, please contact [email protected] for fast, friendly help. We want you to be satisfied with your purchase. Customer support is available to provide personalized assistance, and purchasers will always find fair and flexible support.

An online program may be revised or discontinued at any time without prior notice. If a course is discontinued during your period of enrollment, you will receive a prorated refund.

For telephone consultations, 24 hours’ cancellation notice is required to receive a refund. Applicable refunds are typically issued via PayPal or Stripe within two business days. If Debra Macleod must cancel the telephone consultation in advance, you will be notified by email: Debra Macleod may refund your payment without notice, or give you the option to reschedule or receive a refund.

Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS will not be liable for any claim or damages suffered by any person due to the alleged presence of any virus or malware on DebraMacleod.com or any other website.

As per our privacy policy, the processing and storage of your personal data happens on our linked third-party sites (PayPal or Stripe for payment processing, Thinkific for course delivery, Acuity Scheduling for booking telephone consultations, and SSL-encrypted email via our website hosting company SiteGround). These reputable sites have their own industry best security measures and privacy policies.  Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS is not responsible for any data breach that may occur on these sites or platforms, and will not be liable for any claim or damages suffered by any person due to such data breach. We will, however, notify you of any relevant data breach we become aware of within 72 hours of discovery, as well as any possible steps you or we can take to help contain it.

Telephone Consultations

Telephone consultations are on a one-on-one basis: Unless otherwise agreed, Debra Macleod does not do conference calls with couples nor speak to both spouses during the same appointment. Calls may not be recorded by either party. Debra will dial the telephone number you provide at the scheduled time; however, if you do not answer after two attempts, the phone consult is deemed cancelled by you without notice and a refund will not be given. Once the phone consult is underway, either you or Debra Macleod may choose to end it at any point and for any reason and a refund will not be given, unless at the discretion of Debra Macleod.

The purpose of a telephone consultation is to provide general insights and strategies (drawing on the principles of effective communication, conflict resolution, and positive interactions, and Debra Macleod’s experience as a relationship author, coach and marital mediator) that may be relevant to your marital/relationship issue. These insights or strategies will be determined by information provided by you during the phone consult. You understand and agree that any insights or strategies provided are informational in nature, and you must use your own judgment when deciding whether or not, in what way(s), or to what extent, to implement them in your life or marriage/relationship. Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS cannot guarantee the insights or strategies will apply to or improve your specific situation or marriage dynamics, and will not be held liable for any act or omission allegedly arising, directly or indirectly, from the use or misuse of information provided.

The terms of the Disclaimer above apply to Online Programs as well as Telephone Consultations and should be read and understood carefully before purchase.

Phone Consult + Course

Purchase of a Phone Consult + Course includes a one-hour telephone consultation plus a bonus enrollment in the online program stipulated. Course exchanges are not permitted; however, substitutions may be made at the discretion of Debra Macleod (e.g. if a customer has already purchased the course). To access the bonus course, you will need to create an account on our course-hosting platform so the course can be added to it. You will have access to your course for a period of one year from the date of the phone consult. If you do not or cannot create an account on our course-hosting platform for any reason within two weeks of completing the phone consult, you are deemed to have forfeited the bonus course portion of this option. Scheduling subsequent phone consults does not entitle a customer to additional bonus courses. Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS cannot guarantee the suitability of the bonus course to your situation and is under no obligation whatsoever to ensure satisfaction or to provide a bonus course in situations where she feels it is inappropriate or may be misused.

The terms of the Disclaimer above also apply to the Phone Consult + Course option and should be read and understood carefully before purchase.
