Online Programs: Scope, suitability and purpose
Purchase of an enrollment allows you to access your online program(s) for a period of one year from the date of purchase. No-cost re-enrollments of active programs are available, upon request and with proof of purchase, at the discretion of Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS. Audio and audio with video portions of the programs are streaming only, while supplements are downloadable as PDF’s. The terms of the Disclaimer above apply to Online Programs as well as Telephone Sessions and should be read and understood carefully before purchase.
Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS customers and users must be at least 18 years of age, or the legal age or majority in their jurisdiction if it is different. Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS reserves the right to restrict access to an online program user at any point and/or to edit or delete a user’s account for any reason, without prior notice and without a refund.
Third Party Sites
DebraMacleod.com contains links to sites that are owned and operated by reputable and privacy compliant third parties. These include the Thinkific course platform for course enrollment and delivery, and Calendly for booking telephone sessions. Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS also uses third-party payment processors PayPal and Stripe.
Due to the non-returnable nature of online programs and the potential for buyer abuse in this digital age, Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS has a general no-refund policy for online programs; however, if you feel you should be exempted from this by law or for any other reason, contact CustomerSupport@DebraMacleod.com for fast, friendly help. We provide quality products, detailed descriptions, a reliable platform, and a secure payment process with anti-fraud measures in place so that you can make an informed and responsible purchase; we reserve the right to take appropriate action against buyer abuse / fraud or exploitation of our products.
An online program may be revised or discontinued at any time without prior notice. If a course is discontinued during your period of enrollment, you will receive a prorated refund.
For telephone sessions, 24 hours’ notice is required to receive a refund. Applicable refunds are typically issued via PayPal or Stripe within two business days. If Debra Macleod must cancel the telephone session in advance, you will be notified by email and/or telephone and you will be given the option to reschedule or receive a refund.
All of Debra Macleod’s content, including website, digital, print, audio, video and PDF material (e.g. program supplements), is copyright material. No part of Debra Macleod’s content, including home programs, may be accessed, stored, reproduced or distributed in any form without Debra Macleod’s permission. Online programs are for individual and personal use: you may not give access to your program or share material from it with others.
Viruses, Malware and Data Breach
Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS prioritizes security and privacy, and adheres to industry best practices. We recommend that you install appropriate defenses against viruses and malware before you email, access, or download any information from any website, including DebraMacleod.com or linked third-party sites. Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS will not be liable for any claim or damages suffered by any person due to the alleged presence of any virus or malware on DebraMacleod.com or any other website.
Telephone sessions are on a one-on-one basis: Unless otherwise agreed, Debra Macleod does not do conference calls with couples nor speak to both spouses during the same appointment. Debra will dial the telephone number you provide at the scheduled time; however, if you do not answer after two attempts, the telephone session is deemed cancelled by you without notice and a refund will not be given. Once the telephone session is underway, either you or Debra Macleod may choose to end it at any point and for any reason and a refund will not be given, unless at the discretion of Debra Macleod.
The purpose of a telephone session is to provide general insights and strategies (drawing on the principles of effective communication, conflict resolution, and positive interactions, and Debra Macleod’s experience as a relationship author, coach and marital mediator) that may be relevant to your marital/relationship issue. These insights or strategies will be determined by information provided by you during the telephone session. You understand and agree that any insights or strategies provided are informational in nature, and you must use your own judgment when deciding whether or not, in what way(s), or to what extent, to implement them in your life or marriage/relationship. Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS cannot guarantee the insights or strategies will apply to or improve your specific situation or marriage dynamics, and will not be held liable for any act or omission allegedly arising, directly or indirectly, from the use or misuse of information provided.

When you contact Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS, whether by email or by enrolling in an online program or booking a telephone session, you agree to be contacted at the email address(es) or telephone number(s) you provide, and to have invoices, order confirmation email and/or other necessary correspondence from us and our third-party sites sent to such email address(es). Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS will treat all information discussed or written as confidential. Confidentiality will however be breached when and if it is required by law including the admission of criminal or harmful activities against an identifiable person or class or persons including self harm as well as harm to others.

Applicable Law and Venue
Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS is headquartered in the Province of Alberta, Canada. Of course, its website DebraMacleod.com and its content, products and services can be accessed from other provinces and countries around the world. As each of these places has laws that may differ from those of Canada and the Province of Alberta, by accessing DebraMacleod.com and Debra Macleod’s / Marriage SOS’s content, products, and services (including online programs, telephone sessions, books and articles), you agree that the statutes and other laws of the Province of Alberta and the country of Canada, without regard to conflicts of laws and principles thereof, will apply to all matters arising from or relating to the use of DebraMacleod.com and Debra Macleod’s / Marriage SOS’s content, products and services. What information do we collect and what do we do with it?
When you create an account and/or enroll in a program, and as part of the enrolling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, email address and region. This is necessary for you to create an account on the linked course platform and access your course.
When you book a telephone session, and as part of the scheduling process, we collect the personal information you give us such as your name, email address and telephone number. This is necessary for you to book the appointment on the linked online scheduler and for Debra to contact you.
How do you get my consent?
When you provide your name and/or contact information, you imply that you consent to being contacted at the email address(es) you provide and to have invoices, order confirmation email and/or other necessary correspondence from Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS and/or third-party sites sent to such email address(s). You will only be contacted for essential business purposes.
How do I withdraw my consent?
If after you opt-in, you change your mind, you may contact us at email@example.com to request that your account be deleted from the course platform or that your information be deleted from the online scheduler.
Our courses are hosted by Thinkific Labs Inc. (“Thinkific”). They provide us with the online course creation platform that allows us to sell our products/services to you. Your data is stored through Thinkific’s data storage, databases and the general Thinkific application. They store your data on a secure server behind a firewall.
Telephone sessions are booked online via Calendly, and your data is securely stored there until your appointment.
For payment of our courses, we use a third party payment processor such as Stripe or Paypal. Payments are encrypted through the Payment Card Industry Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS).
All direct payment gateways adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information.
Third Party Services
In general, the third-party sites and providers used by us will only collect, use and disclose your information to the extent necessary to allow them to perform the services they provide to us. Third party sites and providers, including payment processors, have their own privacy policies: you can read their privacy policies if you wish to understand the manner in which your personal information will be handled by them.
Certain providers may be located in or have facilities that are located in a different jurisdiction than either you or us. If you elect to proceed with a transaction that involves the services of a third-party service provider, then your information may become subject to the laws of the jurisdiction(s) in which that service provider or its facilities are located.
As an example, if you are located in Canada and your transaction is processed by a payment gateway located in the United States, then your personal information used in completing that transaction may be subject to disclosure under United States legislation, including the Patriot Act.
To protect your personal information, we take all reasonable precautions and follow industry best practices to make sure it is not inappropriately lost, misused, accessed, disclosed, altered or destroyed.
Your account on the Thinkific course platform will be deleted at the end of your enrollment, or earlier if you request by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org. Empty accounts (those that contain no purchased enrollments) will be deleted within one month or earlier if you request by emailing email@example.com.
Your personal information will be deleted from our online scheduler upon cancellation or completion of your telephone session, or earlier if you request by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org
Your personal data including name, email address and region, is securely stored by Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS and is maintained for necessary, legally-required business purposes and duration only. You may request a copy of any personal data stored by emailing email@example.com and we will respond to your request within 30 days.
If you email us directly, perhaps for technical assistance with a program or to enquire about our services, the email exchange is deleted once the communication thread has ended, or earlier of you request it. If you email us and we do not respond, (e.g. if you reach out for advice, which we cannot respond to) your email will be deleted. All email communication is SSL-encrypted via our website hosting company SiteGround.
Debra Macleod / Marriage SOS does not sell your personal information, send out mailers or newsletters, keep an email list for promotional purposes, ask for feedback, nor allow advertisements on our site.

We may use web analysis tools that are built into DebraMacleod.com website to measure and collect anonymous session information.
